GEOMETRY WARS 2 - XBOX 360
This has been probably our favourite office wide xbox live arcade game. When we all first picked it up we had a mad rush of each night going home and looking up scores and trying to beat each other. Then the new Alpha Male of that particular game would walk in and proudly throw down their new score for all to marvel at. The simplistic yet stunning graphics amazed us while the real arcade play style appealed to the child in all of us. Truly an epic game to keep coming back to.

OPERATION FLASHPOIN & EXPANSIONS
Possibly one of the finest games ever made. Sure it had its bugs, and the graphics werent that flash, but its realism and general awesomeness more than made up for these (minor) shortcomings. This game is a true (or very near to it) military simulator, with excellent physics, and enourmous worlds which also have vehicles!! You can run around shooting at stuff, command, gun or drive a tank, or even jump in a chopper or jet for some death from above action

AGE OF EMPIRES 2 & EXPANSIONS
It didn't take very long after we downloaded the demo that we rushed out and bought this awesome game. Then when we wanted to play against each other we had to rush out and buy ANOTHER copy....then another.....Pretty nasty that for multiplayer each person needs their own original CD!! sheeeesh! I guess they are lucky the game is so damned good that we were forced into buying it a dozen times.
It is a highly debated issue when deciding WHO is the Age2 Champion at the studio, here's a quick history :
KingDaniel RUINS all other players with scores like 20 to 1, 20 to 2 etc for the first month using Chinese with tower rushes. Not Long after, Cordel starts using 100 archers to surround his enemies. Another run of victories for KingDaniel by building (girly) wonders. It wasn't long after this that all players became quite even. MadMartin had a long reign of supremacy by letting all other players battle and then running 100 pumped up paladins around the map, cleaning everyone else's towns in only seconds. Finally we realize that pike men rip through cavalry, and then it was all over for the Martain. JT's constant playing against hardest computer players on the highland map gave him the skills he needed to be a powerful force, although he still quits as soon as a tower is up in his town! ;)

ULTIMA ONLINE
How can this game be denied? I know it's pretty old now, and the graphics aren't too great....even when it was released...the plot and missions are thin or non-existent, but it just rocks! If you have not played a massively multiplayer game before, this is where you should start. Michael loved the game so much, he went and bought a brand new PC and the game on credit the very next night!
It takes about 3 months of explorative play to learn just how deep the game is, then you will spend the next 6 months trying to build up to 1 million gold and going on great adventures to new lands. You will spend the following 6 months collecting rare items, armor, decorating your house and making all 5 characters the best they can be, then you will probably spend the next 6 months standing around the bank chatting with other expert gamers, philosophizing on why you are all actually still playing the game and paying $20 a month to chat and change clothes......but hey, it was giant leap in RPG gaming and it's huge player base and continual patches and upgrades make it all worth while, not to mention those midi tunes. Sadly, 'Omar' and 'Gandalf' from Oceania are no longer playing, but every few months the urge returns and we sign up again.
For those familiar, you may recognize this tune from the game....ahhhh, takes you back doesn't it.

SPEEDBALL 2
(Running on the Amiga (or emulator) as the PC version seems to bite!)
We have been playing this game for what, 8, 10 years? So many all-nighters spent trying to win the league. Finally we finish first, only to discover a second division of teams to whoop us! So another 3 years are spent playing through, trying to both collect enough cash to buy the best players while still winning in order to make the next division. And we STILL haven't won the league! This game is a great example of making the game difficult rather than easy in order to keep you playing. Ice-cream! Ice-cream!
